Darth-Nasty
I just find it dissapointing the the majority of american people dont seem to make an effort to join in with the world cup. it is a global competition between 180 different countries every four years and every match means so much to the public of almost every country involved. (eg. the 1.5m people partying in the streets of seoul the other night.) It seems the me that the majority of the american public are the only ones that distance themselves from this remarkable event and instead have their own "football world series" between themselves. This seems kinda internationally anti-social to me as football is undeniably the worlds main sport and i cant help feeling that the majority of americans cant see what they are missing out on. I know for a fact that if England overcome the brazilians and go on to win the world cup there will be partying in the streets for weeks. In fact if any of the other 31 nations in the world cup were to have become champions it would have been a simmilar story with the exception of the americans. I reckon if they were to win the world cup they would get a small collumn on pg 20 of their newspapers saying "In other sports news, USA won the soccer world cup the other day, well done"
HellFyre69
I think this years world cup... U.S. is really really lucky... U dont get to see the u.s. going that far.. U.S. beat mexico 2-0. Mexico is A lot better than U.S (hate to say this but is true) if you look back to history of mexico, mexico always has done A LOT better than US in all world cups.. However I still think U.S. Dont have a chance against a team like Germany. True all the favs where kicked out (Italy, argentina) However if i dare say, France is a ****ty team. They have only won 1 world cup in the WHOLE life, and now everybody things they are da sh!t? No they sux, they just got really lucky in france 98, but thats all!!... England is also a pretty god darn good team. And have the chance to beat Brazil. My thoughts that If U.S. beats Germany this fri, I would say that the world cup is pretty much fix.. Why? all the good teams are being eliminated by the crappy and ****ty teams!! This world cup has been a big dissapointment.
BCanr2d2
Interesting comments about France. My personal opinions on them are that they were the best team between 98 and the start of 2001, then from there, things haven't been the best for them. All the football commentators and analysts thought that France were just having problems with injuries, which they still were for this world cup. I think this year they all had the wool pulled over their eyes with all the "old word" soccer powers. Too much of a teams expectations are that of what they have done in the past, not necessarily on current form..........
SharaFett
haha yea- how about i not play rugby aka the "sport" where u get gangbanged in a circle of men who shave their body hair. how about NOT - i dunno what kind of football u play, but in football, there are constant injuries. i watch pro football and i see players getting injured every other play- tearing acls, akilles heels, biceps, ect...ther have been 3 death cases in football in the gametime ALONE in the past decade- not to mention training camp. you try to hold 60 lbs of padding and btw dumb****, football and rugby are completely different- one's an endurance sport and one consists of energy spurts. lol you say the word "fit" to describe rugby players. i'll use "jacked" for football players. ANY LB will **** UP ANY RUGBY PUSSY TO DEATH!! TO DEATH!! ****ing europeans, thinking they know wtf "rough sport" is. yea- how bout u shave urselves, wear ur speedo's, and keep playing pussy-ass sports like rugby. oh wait- you do that on a regular basis -i <3 soccer AND football
