Norin Radd Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Hearing Dooku speak about "10,000 more world joining the sepatists makes me wonder how many planets were in the Republic?
MotionMan Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Well the republic/empire rules the galaxy. Galaxy=millions of stars/suns. millions of suns= millions of planets. All the planets may not hold life so maybe take away about 70% of all those planets cause they dont hold life. Youll have about 30% of the millions of planets in the galaxy controlled by the republic/empire. Although I doubt that they control the whole galaxy. More like a few solar systems. I think they just say the whole galaxy to sound more overpowering.
RichDiesal Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Well, technically they hold the whole galaxy... just like technically, China has control over every little village inside it... realistically, they don't, but by the books, they do.
Zindell Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 well of course not the whole galaxy tatooine was outside the ruling of the republic as was where the cloning was being done.
RichDiesal Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 Well... technically, a planet has to "join" the Republic to be considered part of it (they pledge to support the Republic and in exchange get a seat on the Senate). Hell, that's a good way. Look at Ep1 or 2 and count how many little booths there are in the Galactic Senate. Then you'll know.
Kyle d'Tana Posted June 19, 2002 Posted June 19, 2002 well there are a few millions of sytems and worlds in the galaxy who have some civilized citizens.....

I never thought of it that way, there are a LOT of booths there.

I thought there would be a lot more than that! btw:RichDiesal - I like your Kamino map! Could do with some rain or lightning or something though.
Rassick Posted June 20, 2002 Posted June 20, 2002 Yeah, and maybe not every world was even represented in the Senate. Just think of it like this: the Republic was the most powerful ruling body. It governed the galaxy, but obviously ended up losing control--no one can effectively govern something so large. That's why America is split into 50 states.
