Jan Gaarni
Thought I should put up a small warning here because people read this forum. Anyway, got a mail from a friend about this supposedly dangerous virus (Jdbgmgr.exe) that might be on my comp. The mail looked authentic enough to me, and even on my own language aswell. But something still felt wrong about it. So I searched my comp and found it. But still it all smelled (not litterly ) fishy. So before I did anything about it, I made some inquiry on this "alleged" virus. Well, as it turns out, my gut feeling was correct. This mail is a hoax. The "virus" is not a virus at all, rather a program that follows with IE and is harmless. Why am I saying this? Well, for the simple fact that the person I got this mail from has sent this mail to a bunch of people WITHOUT checking it out first. I'm not saying anyone of you here would do something like that, but I still put this warning up INCASE someone DID delete the file. And i would hate it if I read in the near future about someone here deleting it, and I hadn't said anything about it. But that's just me. For more info, go here: jdbgmgr.exe Hoax or any other anti virus site and do a search for jdbgmgr.exe
setsuko
You are so kind and considerate, Jan! As always, when it comes to these things. Never, ever open mails that you are unsure of, be even more careful if you are using a windows OS, and especially so if you are using Outlook, The Virus Spreader. Take care, and good computer health to all of you

RoyalGuard
Ah, another one of those ignorance exploitation things... tahnks for the heads up, I'll tell my less computer literate friends... My favourite 'hoax' virus remains the I-Mac 'virus', the e-mail read: "This is the I-Mac virus, it works on the honour system. Please forward this to everyone in your address book and then delete some critical system files. Thank You." Damn Apple users....
