Exar Kun II
I'm afraid not. George Lucas has already said that Episode III the end.
Darklighter
We can only hope though. I don't think he would let his creation die out, no matter what he says. Whether this means passing the responsibillty onro someone else, i don't know...
slimking
ok thanks guys hey Exar Kun II have you read all of reverlation?
MotionMan
He will not make any more SW movies after he finishes Ep.3. If he is to let someone else make any more SW movies after he dies or before hand, He should write the scripts for 7,8,9. He should have a statement in his will that says whoever makes the new SW movies HAS to follow Georges scrips he wrote. That way IF there would be any new movies they would feel like Lucas movies:)

Jaster21801
Hasn't he gone back and forth on the topic of 6 or 9 movies in total a lot? I seem to remember him changing his mind at least a couple of times...
lijijil
I know its been answered but would like to have my 2 credits worth rather than have a post come on and die after 5 entries LOL. George has said (this time) that it takes 3 years to make an episode after a 3 year interval between films, he says he is 58 Earth years of age and that he would be 64 when ep. iii is finished 70 when ep. vii gets finished 76 ep viii and 82 for ep. viii. Add a couple of years for all sorts of problems that afflict movie making and he will be a great age Well theres my 2 bob's worth, no doubt the debate will continue to rage. Maybe one of his kids will go into the directing business and continue it, after all his Jedi Master Yoda was still workin at 900 LOL
ET Warrior
lijijil, i have no idea what you were saying in your post...........it takes 3 years between movies star wars movies......so if he is 58 now, ep 3 will come out when he is 61.....then if he DID decide to go for a 7,8,9, then those will be finished when he is 64, 67, and 70. We'll give him 5 extra years of rest between some movies, and he'd be 75 after episode IX. I'm not sure where you came up with 82............ lijijil
ETWarrior I appreciate the confusion I may have thrown in the works and didnt explain myself in detail, sorry about that mate, GL actually, from what Ive heard and read, leaves 3 years between films as well, making it 6 years between the start of one till the start of another. The math was done in my head mate and if you could see my head, flat out working anything out in it let alone maths. LOL Hope I went a little way to clearing my thoughts on the subject Either way for me it's too long between films and I for one would love to see eps vi, vii and viii. slimking
i hope they do i saw ep1 and thought it was crap and then ep2 was sooooooo good best film in ages, i hope there are more sabre fights in the next one,
obi
George Lucas said He won't Make 7-9, but he also said that "This will be the last chance to own the original trilogy" And, as we all know, the trilogy has been "Remasterd" twice (may be three times, I lost count)
ET Warrior
He may put 3 years between starting new trilogys, but not between each movie.......because episode 1 came out in 99, while episode 2 came out in 02 And also, ep 4 in 77, ep 5 in 80 and ep 6 in 83.........so it's just a 3 year difference between new movies. lijijil
We'll just have to agree to disagree then, Im saying 6 years between start and finish of 2 films, 5, 6 ,7, 2, 1 years who cares, its not a big deal, Im just quoting what I heard and read OK
ET Warrior
Between starting and finishing 2 films it's six years, yes....but one film gets finished in three..........
lijijil
Oh yes, thats correct, was that where I was confusing things, 3 years to make a piccie, yes. Wish someone would talk him into doing the last 3, no good trying to bribe him with money LOL
lijijil
No thats not right, the way I was told it takes 3 years to make a film he has 3 years off (about) then 3 years to make the next one. Perhaps my sources need a good kickin'

Arkum
Lucas has said that he wouldn't make 7-9, however he could be swayed by the general public to do so, or maybe one of his kids will take up the family business. He also constantly changes his mind, I think if the general public pushes him to make 7-9, perhaps he will.

ET Warrior
ah, but if Lucas decides to create a 7,8,9, he's almost certainly NOT waiting 15 years until he makes them.....he'd be dead!
Lieutenant Page
I agree if Lucas wants to make them he will. If not he must allow another director to make them. Lucas didn't want to make Empire or Jedi when he was making A New Hope which is why he was only the producer on those two films. If Lucas wants any say he must be a producer for the 7 8 and 9 episodes. Lucas must not write another script. Based on the past NT episodes, Lucas' writing techniques are horrible. Even with another writer helping him is no use, it made Episode 2 better than TPM but Lucas mustn't write and do what he does best behind the camera. -Lt. ET Warrior
(begin heavy sarcasm) YEAH! HOOHA! Let's make sure that he doesn't write any more crap like A new hope, or Empire strikes back, or attack of the clones! Who would want to see that? Let's put Star Wars in the hands of the people who clone every single character they can get their hands on! I want to see an episode 7 with 15 Han Solo's and 32 Chewbacca's! (End heavy Sarcasm) I say, if George isn't running the show and writing 7 8 and 9...star wars needs to end. Because if we start handing it off, we'll end up with tons of star wars movies that are horrible. Leia: "Han i love you, but there's a conflict." Han: "What is it?" Leia: "I love your clone!" Han: "Which one?" Leia: "The one that the clone Darth Maul didn't kill." Han: "The one captured by the super evil Emperor Clone?" Leia: "Yes!" Han: "Ack! Look out, it's Boba Fett!" Leia: "You mean he escaped from the black hole?" Han: "Yes, even after we saw him get sucked in...he must have used his Jet Pack and flame thrower....." Leia: "He shot Chewie!" Han: "Nono, that was clone chewie....he's the Decoy!!" *Suddenly Chewbacca runs into the room and rips off Boba Fett's Head* Leia: "Surely he's dead now.." Han: "That's what everyone thought about Jango Fett.."
