Menus

I played the Jedi Knight 2 demo at my friends house I decided that I wanted to buy it. When I got home I downloaded the demo to make sure that it would work on my computer. When I got it set up I went into it and the menus were horribly slow. The lightsaber cursor would jump across the screen every one or two seconds because there was so much delay. The twirling icon on the side wouldn't even twirl it would just make delay jumps in a circle like the mouse cursor. Everything on the menu still worked if you could manage to get the cursor. When I got into the game it was pretty slow too, so I paused and went through the horrible menu again and changed the video settings. The game worked fairly smooth after that, maybe a few skips here or there. The menus however are still really slow. I updated all my drivers and got the latest direct X. I also did a systems test to make sure that I would pass and I did easily. I even turned of every program I could using control- alt -delete, the menus were still super slow. Has anybody else had this problem? Does anybody have any idea how to fix it? Is it just a demo thing or do you think that would happen if I had the game CD? I want to buy the game but I don't know if I should if I can't even get the demo working well. It should be working better than it is, here are my system specs:

p3, 666mhz

246mb of ram

deplay adapter: primary display driver

I'm running on windows 98 second edition

Tell me if you need anymore info.

Thanks for any help!

Your OS like... windows 95 windows 98 windows ME windows 2000 windows XP home or pro... I need to know because each one is diffrent and have diffrent reactions to the game... Windows 95 sometimes cant handle the OpenGL as well as someone using 98... Desktop display is the properties of your window... If your using any windows exept windows 3.1 you can right click your background go to the properties and go to the settings tab... I need to know what your screan resolution is and your color set up weather its 16 colors 256 colors 16bit colors 32 bit colors so on and so forth...

Do you use any type of animated cursers... I did a lot of reading in the troubleshooting because my game wont even run but thats another story... I read that the animated cursers can effect the game play menus... also If your 3D card is 16 bit it would make the game play a little on the crappy game play... Since you stated earlyer your using "primary display driver" that you dont really know what kind of card your using or you dont have a card... You might want to go to start click run and type this up "DXDIAG" It will start up your Direct X Diagnostic Tool It can tell you more about your system and what you have than you could any other way... You can save your diagnostic report as a TXT file open it and copy importan stuff and past it on to this form to give us more info on what could be the problem...

"IMPORTANT"

As in system starts and display driver info...
