1.The folder setup

 

create a base folder on your root drive:

 

c:\base

 

extract the humanoid.gla (make sure extract full paths is selected in winzip) to that dir. The gla file is in the assets0.pk3 if i remember correctly.

 

Install the raven tools to c:\base so you end up with:

 

c:\base\tools

 

take carcass.exe and copy it to the _humanoid dir.

 

create a folder for you model. (base/models/players/'your model")

 

2.Exporting from 3DS max to XSI

 

if you already have done your textures, put them in the base/models/players/'your model" and assign them from that location in the material editor.

 

export the model into the _humanoid folder, you should name that file "root", next open up assimilate. Go to file, then add files, select the humanoid.gla animation file and then click b to compile the glm.

 

if you've done your setup right you should have a valid glm file created.
