simarilius Posted June 30, 2002 Posted June 30, 2002 ..or one resembling it fairly closely its basically finished, I'm just at the texturing stage, there are some pics at http://members.lycos.co.uk/simarilius/speeder.html I've made quite heavy use of patch meshes, as a result it takes rspeeds to about 2500 in its current incarnation, so i may make a lower poly version as well, depends if people want one.
Emon Posted June 30, 2002 Posted June 30, 2002 Nice, but it's not nearly as good as this: http://www.jedinights.com/studio/SFS/pictures/landspeeder_16.jpg That happens to be a JK 3DO, as well!
simarilius Posted July 3, 2002 Author Posted July 3, 2002 I've pretty much finished it, only problem, i resized it cos the scale wasnt quite right, and all of a sudden theres ****in cracks all over the place where i know the shouldnt be. what i mean is this: http://members.lycos.co.uk/simarilius/pics/speeder/wtf.jpg the engines in those are made from patches, the ends are caps and they both line up in GTKrad, so how do i get cracks like that? Its really annoying me, and the only thing stoping me releasing it.
Emon Posted July 3, 2002 Posted July 3, 2002 Your geometry detail isn't at the highest level. It's SUPPOSED to line them up, the lower detail ones, but you must have made it wrong.
simarilius Posted July 3, 2002 Author Posted July 3, 2002 what are you on about? I know models have LODs but wasnt aware that maps did. Any suggestion on how to make it right? what more than making it line up in radiant can you do?
simarilius Posted August 15, 2002 Author Posted August 15, 2002 Been way too busy recently to do any JK editing, for some reason the last thing i feel like after 8 hrs of 3d editing for work is loading Radiant and doing some more. The speeder as it stands is on my site, help yourselves, i hope its of some use.
