j_anderson5
Is it possible to set up a language filter for JK Outcast? I enjoy playing on-line, but the continuous stream of foul and abusive language which some players insist on using really grates on me. Can anything be done? Can all "chatting" be disabled, or can you disable messages from certain players etc.? If not perhaps this feature could be added to Raven's "wish list". Yoda_623
Do you really have to post this on every forum.
MediocreSlacker
I wouldn't mind a feature like that. slacker
MadJackMcJack
It would proably have to be a server-side thing, set to filter out certain words. Careful though. Those filters ain't smart (one I saw on a Day of Defeat server looked for letters only, so words like pass were filtered!)
Twins of Doom
yes, filters can often be messed up easily;)
Homosexual Ewok
Unless you are playing CTF or TDM, try going into the options menu and enabling "Team Chat Only". I assume in a duel or FFA you wouldn't see any chat.
AsbestosTeddy
Or, if the language is too much to bear you could just remove your eyes. . . or stop playing . . . or turn off the monitor . . . or move to an uninhabited island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. . . knyte
Id just like to point out the irony that you people are concerned about a language filter while playing a game where the object is to KILL EVERYONE! You horrible people all of the you! THE SCOUT RULES!
Rastigi
One of the best methods of "filtering" language would be to find a server where the people in general are more respectful. I'm sure if you talk to people you find "non-offensive," you will eventually find enough of them to create your own group of jedi, and you will probably also find one with the capability to run a server. This server op would have ultimate control over what could and could not happen on his/her server. Then, you would be able to fully enjoy the game without getting in anyone else's way, and without them getting in yours.
