Jar Jar model in progress

I have been working at finishing my Jar Jar model for JO. Right now the models first LOD is pretty much fully tweaked and I am 95% happy with its performance ingame. Texturing is finished and all that remains is the other LOD's. Here are some screens of the model rendered in max. I will post some ingame shots soon.

Let me know what you think.

The sounds are almost complete too. I will most likely release the model with two sound packs. One that contains quite a bit of annoying Jar Jar speak which I feel brings the character to life. The other will most likely be toned down and contain more noises and less talk. It will not be as annoying for those who get sick of Jar Jar's stupid comments. I do think that the first sound pack will make you play that extra bit better. When you hear Jar Jar say "How Rude" when he is shot, you really do feel the need to kill him! :p

thats exactly what i thought at first too. maybe he lowered the poly count and tweeked it a bit. But there are a few details that make it seem that his is from scratch, but i have no doubt that the sci fi 3d mesh had something to do with this one. just look at the feet model (model, not skin, skins can be easily changed).

i'm not saying its a bad model, its incredible, but if you could just clear this issue up a bit. IMO you used parts of the mesh (but optimized them) and did other parts from scratch. but we'll never know until the actual modeller tells us.

It's awesome! :D

Could you weight the ears such that they move with the model? I know they did that with the lekku on the Aayla model.

Also, sithlordii (I think) knows how to make them into their own NPC's, that'd be cool...*evil grin* Dead Jar Jar's everywhere

The outfit, in some parts at least, seems a little low-res...

Did you put him in a 3d scanner!

No I know, you stole the original model from the movies didn't you!!??

If you did none of the above, well then you're a kick-ass modeller my friend 'cus that's THEE best model I have ever seen.

It looks just like him. Great work.

Naah, the proportion and muscle definition are totally different, both sets of feet look like jar-jar's feet other than that there are notable style differances in the meshs.

All it all, a tour-de-force of meshsmithing.

Lets hope the JKII animation system doesn't let him down (Which, alas, I think it will with that head/neck configuration)
