How to Make a config File ?????

well you could use notepad to make one, tahts wat i use to open/make config files.

 

Also you could say input your controls, thus saving it into a config file, copy the config, thus backing it up, then have your family do their controls and then back their configs up too. Then you can copy it onto a floppy and transfer your controls from computer to computer.

 

btw the config file for your controls + binds should be jk2mpconfig, or they are for me, you can find it in the base folder.

Set up the controls the way you want, drop down the console via shift+~ and type:

\writeconfig myconfig

Then press enter.

 

You can name the file whatever you wish.

 

After someone else plays and changes everything, all you have to do to restore your settings is drop down the console and type:

 

\exec myconfig

Once again press enter.

 

Everything will be restored, your control set up, the display resolution (changes upon restarting) your name and so on.

 

For a very fast way to do this, before you write your config do this:

\bind x exec myconfig

 

Now any time you want to do it on the fly, simply press that button.
