Unofficial 1.04 Patch

I'd like to point out 2 things. First g_dismember is a probability value with 0 being "off" and 1-100 representing 1% to 100% chance of occurance. Setting anything beyond 100 for g_dismember is pointless. Second, the valid settings for cg_dismember (client-side) are 0, 1 and 2. 0 = no dismemberment, 1 = partial dismemberment, and 2 = full dismemberment (decapitations/waist cuts). Setting anything beyond 2 is meaningless.

Just so you know, I have this information straight from the mp programmer at Raven.

yah and prevents many admins from using this bcuz it was made it to the liking of the coders (in this case raven) and not customizable like mine....

assfighting is dead since the source code came out, most of the people just dont know. every mod has that included already...

I have yet to see setting those cvars way above norm do anything extra to dismembering.... I personally use 100/2 and it looks great. I've tried higher settings, and not a bit of difference. I mean beyond having a dismemberment happen for every saber death, how much more can setting it higher do.... nothing in my opinion. Matrix is right setting that stuff to higher seems pointless.

Sig got shortened here is the info I meant to share:

All Server Admins should use this unofficial 1.04 patch:

<http://www.massassi.net/levels/files/2182.shtml>

I also recommend the following settings:

seta g_forceregentime 100 - 1.02 style forceregen.

seta g_saberghoul2collision 0 - minimal blocking.

seta g_sabertracesaberfirst 0 - minimal blocking.

seta sv_allowdownload 1- allows clients to download unofficial patch

seta g_dismember 300 - dismemberment on.

(client needs to have /cg_dismember 300)

Put (1.04) in the server name.

This mod/patch prevents assfighting, and balances out the game.

Just so you know, my info was obtained after the source was released. I had been in long discussions with the mp programmers about logging issues and they happened to share the dismemberment info with me during that process. Trust me, if you detect any difference between cg_dismember 2 and cg_dismember 300 or g_dismember 100 and g_dismember 300, it's all in your head.
