uhm.. wip saber hilt.. need help

whats the poly count on that bad ass. Look cool. Well are you able to get it in game with out a skin?...Well as far as it being pixlated, i think your problem lies how your paiting the skin.... To big of a mapp on a little saber. What canvas/ image size are you using?

Go download the JK2 dev tools kit. It has everything you need.

 

1.) sabers should never exceed 1000 vertices.

 

2.) sabers should never exceed 1200 polys (just to keep things fast, and because they're small!)

 

I'm not sure what you mean by your skin being off and pixelated. It sounds like you haven't mapped your model yet, which is definitely something you need to do before skinning it.

i didn't get it in the dev kit, i got 4 tools, and two didn't work.. the ones that did work are the personality thing.. and the special fx one, and that one has amillion pop ups when i open it up, theres no MD3viewer..

Yea, I know, Raven is capable of making a kick ass game like Jedi Knight II, but they can't even make a decent layout for their site.

 

Of and the saber looks kick ass man! Keep up the great work!:D
