There is overwhelming evidence that Sidious is Palpy. But, good try on the theory though. :)

My point is that all the evidence for that Sid is palpy (if you don't count eu), also fits in the brother theory. But If they are brothers, the 1.73/1.78 think also fits in. In one way, there is acually more likely that they are brothers.

In Ep 3 once the Jedi Councils thinks they have figured out Palpatine is Sidious, Mace Windu and Yoda will confront him in a battle and kill Palpatine.

But from out of nowhere will come out Sidious, who used a forecless clone of himself named Palpatine to run his politic maneverings without Jedi suspicion for him and kills Mace Windu, and Yoda barely escaped with his own life.

I can't reveal anymore.

i hate to say it but the palpy sid connection has been done to death, some people refuse to believe that they are the same (myself included) and no matter how much arguing goes on we will never know for sure.... until 2005. but please dont just outright say "no you're wrong, they ARE the same" its really annoying when people do that, and you're not convincing anybody of anything so please be kind and stop.

I think George Lucas actually said they were the same so i would take that as them being the same. But it is possible that GL was joking or trying to throw off speculators.

(Man, this is giving me a lot of posts)

That was not a theory, you demanded it, you just said "that is the rigth answer, end of story". And perhaps that is the right answer, perhaps not. We will not know before 2005, so do not assume anything.

Okay... her's another piece of evidence as to the Palpatine/Sidious connection that I haven't heard in any of these debates so far on the LucasForums board...

At the very end of The Phantom Menace, at Qui-Gon's funeral, Yoda and Mace are talking about the Sith...

Mace: There is no doubt. The mysterious warrior was a Sith.

Yoda: Always two there are... no more... no less. A master and an apprentice.

Mace: But which one was destroyed, the master of the apprentice?

And the camera moves from them to Palpatine.

Now, as you all know, Lucas is directing this thing... Lucas knows what's happening in SW3... is it possible, maybe, that Lucas is tossing in some foreshadowing here? Why else would he have the camera go to Palpatine in this scene if he wasn't one of the two people Mace and Yoda are speaking of? Characters lie and misjudge, plot twists and be misleading... but the camera doesn't lie.
