Parts of model seem turned inside out :(

How come that when a model looks fine in 3ds max that in game some body parts seem turned inside out.

Is it because those are body parts that I cloned and mirrored?

The only way I have been able to fix this is by flipping all the polys of thoese body parts but than in 3ds max the model looks all f@#$%& up :(

How can I prevent having to flip the polys when I clone body parts?

ps. I started redoing some of Padme's model like her hands and making her cape. I will redo all the caps, linking & vertex weighting.

use the reset xform modifier instead, this wont mess up in max and still flip the normals the right way.

make sure you move the modifier down the stack. do not leave it on top, if the skin modifier was applied, you'll have to redo the whole weighting of the mesh. also use collapse to and not collapse all.

oh and yes it is because of the clone/mirror thing, dont ask me why! :)

hope this helps, good luck!

some corrections: it's in the modifiers and also utilities tab :), plus you have to flip faces manually or select everything facing the wrong way and hit the flip button (i forgot to mention that).

i'm glad i could help!

oh and dont forget to add this for the assimilate section:

"Error, file contains cubic scale keys" if you receive this error from carcass, change your windows regional settings to U.S.

i'm sure lots of people know how to fix this by now, but it could help someone out.

great page btw, i wanted to do something like that to help out others, can i link this page in my signature??
