*The Princess Diaries* (aka Pocky World)

Recommended Posts

It's not my poem and I don't remember who wrote it, but it conveys most succinctly my feelings this morning:

-------------------------------------

-Awakening-

I woke early one morning,

The earth lay cool and still

When suddenly a tiny bird

Perched on my window sill,

He sang a song so lovely

So carefree and so gay,

That slowly all my troubles

Began to slip away.

He sang of far off places

Of laughter and of fun,

It seemed his very trilling,

Brought up the morning sun.

I stirred beneath the covers

Crept slowly out of bed,

Then gently lowered the window

And crushed his fucking head.

----------------------------------------

It's going to be one of those days

There's a chant from Civil Air Patrol that goes like this:

A yellow bird

With a yellow bill

Hopped upon

My windowsill

I attracted him

With a piece of bread

And then I smashed

His little head

Oh me, oh my

I'm such a clutz

I missed his head

And smashed his nuts

The moral of

Our story is

You want some head

You need some bread

My idiot of a brother told it to me when I was little.

The Harbour

Out at daybreak to the sun

Seas are drifting glass

The tides were turning to the storm

Winds were moving fast

Women waiting at the harbour

Silent stand around

Weather storms another day

For men the sea had found

Fishermen were laying nets

The barrels spread the bait

The seagulls warning echoed round

Winds that wouldn't wait

People gathered at the harbour

Waiting for the tide

Eyes half closed against the spray

And tears they cannot hide

Shadows falling at the harbour

Women stand around

Weather storms another way

For men the sea have drowned

Hulls were creaking crashing sails

Rains were slating down

The oilskins flapping, decks awash

Slanting turning round

Thunder roaring at the harbour

Women drawn in fear

Huddle up to wait the time

And pray the sky will clear

Howling winds and the raging waves

Cracked upon the boats

And torn from safety, torn from life

Men with little hope

Ghostly echoes at the harbour

Whispering of death

Women weeping holding hands

Of those they still have left

Shadows falling at the harbour

Women stand around

Weather storms another way

For men the sea have drowned

It seems like months since I sat down at the computer do anything other than read my email then log out. It hasn't actually been months, of course. Just seems that way. I took a well-deserved break tonight, though. Took my best girl (read: only girl) out to the movies. Actually, she's not really my girl. We have what you might call a complicated friendship. Needless to say, we don't get together often. Lots of uncomfortable tension, if you know what I mean. Some things just aren't meant to be. God I'm so lonely. Sob. Tired too. Fuck it, I'm going to bed.

We went to see "The Sum of All Fears". Despite being heavily edited in places (Boo-hoo, it reminds us of the terrorist attacks, wahh!) It was good, a solid political thriller. The ending was a little weak though, kind of sappy. A little out of place in a political thriller, it was more like the ending of an cheesy action movie. Despite these things, the film was pretty good. I'd reccommend it.

once a week

friends come by

to take my skeleton

out of the closet

and get it some air.

yesterday was neat-O!

I ate yummy breakfast cerial

in the morning,

and found a scratch and win card inside,

I won a free movie ticket,

and at the theatre

they honoured the free win ticket

and they had on a double feature:

Spiderman and Men In Black II

I had seen neither.

Spiderman was cool.

MJ looked hot enough

especially in the rain sceen

but she was such a silly, silly girl.

I know Peter Parker

in the comic was hot on her

but she was eesh! a prom queen.

MIB II was way cool!

much better than the first one.

the interaction and variety

of aliens and MIB agents

was what I had hoped for

in the original.

and my friends bought me popcorn,

new york fries, and taco hell.

then I got to surf highspeed

*and finish uploading certain

calaverablanca sections

so yesterday was fun.*

today I feel like Sh!tte though

the trouble with drinking

is that it leads to serious thinking.

and the more you think,

the more you drink,

until lying face down in the washroom

under the bathroom sink,

you ask yourself:

"If the Blue Casket was not blue,

what colour would it be?"

perception is everything,

especially when

thinking and drinking.

was this post

a complete waste of time?

did the use of coloured type font

vex you?

or maybe you just learnt

the hexidecimal colour code.

that's right,

my gosh you just learn something?

go tell your parents right away

they'll be thrilled.

yes in a multitude

of dimensional afterlife's

the blue casket could have been

any of those other colours,

and in the wide world of cyber space

type fonts and website backgrounds

can be any of these colours too.

When I actually took it out I found it was in fact a Samsung Spinpoint, a bigger piece of crap than the one I thought I had. What does this have to do with anything, I hear you ask? Well, as soon as I find out you'll be the first to know.
