Enough of this canon #### debate!

####! Some people here are sooooo confoundedly wrapped up in nitpicking and obsessed with every little stupid detail in debating what the #### canon is and what they insist is bull####. I will not point fingers and I will not hold any grudges I just want to help these people get out of this senseless rut theyre destroying them selves in. FACT: Canon is what comes from George and Lucasfilm. Ah! Ah! No thats what canon is. No dont debate! Ah what did I say. No stop! Whatever they make and aproove IS canon. FACT: Expanded Universe is not canon. BUT most of it is kickass and doesnt conflict with the movies. I personally like all of EU that does not conflict. Luke changes a few rules and traditions in the Jedi order that I think are cool. (Go Jade!;))

I will not look at this thread again because I dont wish to see any flamers who think they know everything have a field day on this.:burn1: :flamethro:devburn: Ya Im sure theyll twist and fart out some reason to call me a :newbie:. Whatever. :nut: Well most of us know the truth pretty much unless George completely changes something whick he likely wont. So Ill finish with one final shine on to the flamers. JAR JAR BINKS IS COOL AND HES CANON!!!!:D :D :D

BTW Im not saying at all that Im some know it all. I just do my best to tell it how it is. Im not great Im just another SW fan like all you. SW rules!:)

By the definition of canon you are correct. Whatever Lucasfilm makes and puts in the films is canon.

 

Whether EU conflicts with the movies is a moot point. EU should never be compared to the movies. No one is saying EU is bad, but you cannot use EU to make an argument against the films. That is what some people have tried to do, and they have no argument, because the canon films are the legitamite story. :D

ummm.....no one BESIDES Jedi Monk ;) You know, it's personal opinion if you like EU or not, just like it's personal opinion if you like dickens, or other famous authors. (I hate dickens) But i think you should probably calm down there jedi nut, even though you said you won't read this thread again, you should....because we debate canon and non canon because

A. We enjoy debating all things star wars, and

B. it's something that we should know, what is and what is not canon.

 

So don't got so mad about it, okay?

i'm guessing he's reffering to the coolness of JarJar.......because JarJar is anything but cool........i will prove it...if you put cool inside of colons, you get this :cool: if you put jarjar inside colons, you get this :jarjar: completely different. Thusly, jarjar is not cool.

to be completely fair to Kit Fisto....he didn't really kill much of anybody on geonosis, he smiled when he destroyed the droids.....we never saw him kill any geonosians.....

Plus this thread is about thecannon debate. Witch has ended in the fact that the movies and only the movies are cannon. Everything else is EU.:cool:

Clear up a few errors in this thread:

 

Jango never holds the blaster in his left hand.

Jango's right hand is severed by Mace.

There is no motion to ignite a jet pack.

Mace does not give any look after picking up his saber.

Kit Fisto smiles after force pushing C3P0.

 

Now for semantics:

In Empire you can slow down the video and see the blaster shot hitting his hand.

Sith Lightning is both energy and force, not a blaster.

 

Clearly the lesson to be learned here is being a coward is better for your pulse. Jar Jar is still alive and Qui Gon, Maul, Fetts, Vader and the Emperor are all dead.

 

Fact:

Yoda is fearful of Luke in Empire.

Yoda dies an aging cowardly death in a swamp.

Semantics:

Yoda doesn't finish Vader off himself.

Cowardice keeps Yoda alive.

 

Not to get off topic but does anyone think Mace would be cooler with the Pulp Fiction look and a gold trim light saber? In Ep.I he could have said "We cannot train the bitch." In Ep. II he could have said "The hell with these krackers, I'm going to show Padme that Darth Maul had the SECOND biggest lightsaber in the galaxy." By Ep.III he and a young Lando could have been cruisin' the galaxy in the Lady Luck."

 

Just a thought....

 

PS: I don't mean any of that stuff about Yoda, just some of these threads are nitpicky beyond the scope of the term.

But the same problem occurs when you do a Plo Koon smiley, and Plo Koon IS cool...

Ah geez kryllith, now you've gone and messed up my perfectly reasonable explanation....:(

 

As for you mr DocBledsoe. Jango does hold it in his left hand at one point, he holds two blasters, and one of them obviously must be in the left one. And Jango's hand doesn't get severed, i saw the movie 9 times, and after the 5th time i paid extra attention and after his head is gone and his body slumps to the gound you clearly see both of his hands. Mace just cut his gun in half. Mace DOES give Jango a look. He looks down at jango on the ground and ignites his blade and his face just says "Never touch the f****** lightsaber!"

Yoda isn't afraid of Luke in empire...yoda could have eaten luke alive in empire! ;)
