SunBurN
I have to do this everytime I start my map in game in order to see the custom shader. I made a .pk3 for it and it looks like I still have to type that before my custom shader will show up in game. My question, is there a way to make the custom shader show up without having to type sv_pure 0 everytime?

SunBurN
no, it was already in the base folder...I didn't think that would matter...ok I'll try that.
superdude201
well as far as i know it needs to be in for when other people download it but i'm not sure if it needs to be in the pk3 now it was just a thought.
Wes Marrakesh
use pakscape for your .pk3.... make a folder called textures in the .pk3 in textures put a folder called for example SunBurN in SunBurn put the custom textures load the map throught the menu and it should work. SunBurN
Yep, that worked! This is my first experience using custom shaders in a .pk3. Thanks!! I'll be releasing a beta soon!

SunBurN
actually, I didn't use pakscape, I just put the shader and info in the .pk3 and it worked fine. I was responding to superdude, but thanks wes for your suggestion. If what superdude said didn't work, I would've tried your suggestion. My map is duel, ffa and team ffa. Was just playing it with my bro and its pretty fun! First time I tried it with someone other than bots. Go to my WIP thread for more details. Emon
volrathxp, what do you use, WinZip? WinZip basically shows you all those hundreds of files at once, PakScape lets you view by browsing through folders. And, you DO know there are options to change how you view the files in PakScape, right?
Manquesa
He uses WinRar I believe, there was discussion about this over at the jedioutcastmaps forums a little while back, that's how I know. But i'm sure he'll be along shortly to fend for himself.
volrathxp
WinRAR. for one i can just right click -> create new winrar zip archive, name it. open it, and create my whole folder structure within the archive, and then go through and put my files in. I've pretty much always used winrar, even in regular usage. I switched to Winace a long time ago, but eventually got bored with that and just went back to winrar. It's always been one of the best archiving programs to me, in terms of features and file readability. (hell winrar can even read .iso format, very rare for an archiving utility). emon: i know there are options for that. there's options for anything and everything these days just to make people happy. I just personally hate pakscape as compared to winrar, and that's that. See, Manquesa was right. Smart guy!
