SamNMax
It's a pretty nice idea. See, they make this game after MI5. It should be could just plain Monkey Island. They should have the same graphics as MI1, no talkey, nothing. It should have SCUMM too. The story is this. The onpening cutsean shows Guybrush at 17 yaers old. He's writing in his log and tells about his parents abandoning him. LeChuck (alive) kills his parents. (But he didn't know it.) And how he is forced to rase himself on the streets. In this game he fears pirates and LeChuck is the villan but he's alive. I don't care how the games puzzels are, but he runs into LeChuck and getting in his way.But Guybrush doesn't know it cuz his name is never spoken. In the last part LeChuck has Guybrush's friends hostige and Guybrush has secretly boreded his ship. After a few puzzels he finds the Lechucks cabin and overhears him talking to himself. He's saying something about impressing a girel and going to an island of some sort. Puzzel, puzzel, puzzel. Yadayadayada. And he finds the brig. He free's his friends with a key he found and the LeChuck's crew finds them and a big swordfight breaks out. LeChuck sneaks up on him and takes him to a torture chamber. There is a cutsean of a mytsteryous woman (Vodoo Lady) does a rain dance and lightning hits the ship. Guybrush flys to the beaches of Melee Island. And the last thing Guybrush says before the credits is "I want to be a pirate."

SamNMax
Actully, I heard that a lot of people want more 8/16 bit games.
crikes5
i'd like to say that plenty of people post crap ideas her but that was magnificent...well thought through...they really should consider making it. however it might need a different name...something like... 'The wrath of LeChuck'
Mafiozi
Cool idea!Maybe you can try send it to them?
scabb
I recommend you write a fan novel about it immediatly.

Joshi
it's a pity LEC would never do that. but the game seems so simple in graphics and stuff, you could probably make it yourself with ADS.
Mullog
It's a good one but they would ruin it.
Joshi
who's 'they'? LEC? not if they did it right, efmi was one mistake in hundreds of brilliant games. i'm pretty sure they know what a mistake efmi was.
Mullog
Naaah... I think those loosers think that they made a great game in EMI. You know, they don't seem to learn anymore. Just a spontaniouse thought.
mymipage
Originally posted by SamNMax Actully, I heard that a lot of people want more 8/16 bit games. I think the majority would prefer a 3D game although a lot do want 8/16 bit. Also, no one would pay more than €10 for an 8/16 bit game now and it would mean that LEC would probably make a loss - good idea though

Just a spontaniouse thought. you can't really say that until you've played sam n max 2 or full throttle 2 considering the last adventure game they released was efmi. wait until they release on of the ones above so you can judge whether they've leant anything (it's a very high possibility that the developers of lec games actually read these forums)
xElaineMarleyx
Nice idea. You should totally send your idea off to Lucas Arts, but the 8/16 graphics? I wouldn't buy the game if it had no voices and old-style graphics. Nu-uh. . Well, it WAS a good idea...
EnchiladaMan
I'd buy it. I still play through MI1 and MI2 for kicks, even though I know all the puzzles. Sometimes it gets annoying playing through MI3 and MI4 again with all the voices turned on, so I just turn them off. Hey, it could be called Monkey Island, Episode I: The Phantom Monkey. and then they could go back and rename the current ones Episodes IV through VII to confuse us all and create special editions of them with new puzzles so they could make more money! ....naaaaaaaah But MI prequel is a great idea. Dont' get me wrong!
Joshi
mi sequel, now there's an idea, but it wouldn't involve guybrush would it?
EnchiladaMan
mi sequel, now there's an idea, but it wouldn't involve guybrush would it? I'm assuming you mean prequel here? But, yeah. It could be with Guybrush. Say he's just a "drifter" who's caught up in the affairs of pirates. He could be a sailer, thus giving him the experience he obviously has on SMI where he sails the ship to Monkey Island all by himself with no help whatsoever from Carla, Meathook, and Otis. We could also see some of the story from Elaine's and LeChuck's perspective. According to the glasseyed pirate in the Scummbar, LeChuck's "the guy who went to the Governor's mansion for dinner and never wanted to leave. He fell for her in a big way, but she told him to drop dead. So he did." Maybe for a bit of the game, we can play Elaine in her dealings with LeChuck (getting rid of him, etc. She told the guard lady on Booty Island in MI2 that she killed Lechuck) Eventually, she tells him to drop dead, and he sails off to Monkey Island to find the secret, where he dies for the first time. Or, we could play LeChuck on an adventure. At the end, we have to sail out to Monkey Island to find the secret. The end cutscene for this part would be where the storm comes up (maybe caused by the Voodoo Lady, who, in MI2 told Largo she killed LeChuck). Somehow, events in the LeChuck/Elaine section preludes events for the Guybrush section. As SamnMax said, he could be afraid of pirates as they kidnap him, etc. During the game he can overcome his fear. At the end, he escapes from becoming a captive of the pirates and washes up on the shores of Mêlée Island, declaring his wish to become a pirate. SamNMax
I didn't think everybody would think it was such a good idea.
Joshi
it is actually a very good idea, and i think you should run with it, make something out of it, a comic, script or maybe even a comic. then again, you could go all the way and use AGS to make it yourself.
