Darth_Linux
Hey everyone I've got a map that does a very strange thing after you run "sof2map -light mapname.map" After loading the map, the screen is completely black except for e the HUD and crosshair. I can't see a weapon and if i move the weapon around the crosshair only moves in a very small area between center screen and 5 o clock. changing r_fullbright to 1 has no effect. i can run around and hear my footsteps, shoot and hear the blaster, but can't see anything at all. If i only bsp and vis the map, everything is rendered, albeit fullbright. Once I run the light stage, everything goes away. does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be wrong? thanks in advance
Bell
do you have any light entities in the map?
Darth_Linux
the sky emits light from a lightimage and a sun parameter, so yet.
Bell
k put a few light entities in the map just to see what happens; in case there is a problem with the sky shader you used. i've had problems with some of those that came with the game. that could be it, try the above to rule it out. Project_Fusion
That has nothing to do with it. (Sorry, ain't got an answer ) But he doesn't need light entities, as the saber would cast light, and the bryar pistol would be visable too-Even in zero lighting. Shadriss
When the compile was done, were there any errors called out in the lighting section of the compile? Maybe there's an inherant problem there... WHO TURNED OUT THE LIGHTS??? When I said "Turn to the Dark side", this was NOT what I had in mind!" Darth_Linux
I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to either a syntax error in a shader (in one case) or the shader called upon a file that didn't exist (in a second case). Since the renderer couldn't apply the shader or find the file, it just paints nothing . . .
