wily888
This is a little off topic, but what the hell. Can anyone explain the following experiment? A birthday candle is stuck into a piece of clay and the clay is stuck onto the center of a pie tin. Eight ounces of water is poured into the tin, keeping the candle dry. The candle is lit, and immediately a glass is placed over it. Eventually the flame gos out and approximately a quarter of the space in the glass is filled with water sucked in from the pie tin. Dath Maximus
simple, as the flame consumes the fuel (air) it creates a vacuum sucking in the water
Boba Rhett
The candle used up the air in the glass which caused water from around the glass to be sucked into it. Kinda like how a straw works. Is that what you wanted to know or....?
