te27ch Posted September 18, 2002 Posted September 18, 2002 Zup. I'm thinking about getting a new computer. money is an option. Will 256 MB of RAM give me smooth gameplay and multiplayer gameplay? Or do I ABSOLUTELY have to get 512 MB? Thanks for any suggestions.

Windows 98 : 256mb is enough Windows ME : 256mb is enough Windows 2000 : 256mb is enough, but 512 is better Windows XP : Get 512 Try to get a DDR system and I would go with an AMD chipset with a Geforce Video card and a 7200rpm hard drive. Also do not get a Geforce4MX anything. Get a Geforce 3TI200 over those or any other TI card. Some rigs come with ATI products and som are alright. But do lots of reading and compare prices with a local computer store to see what u can get for your dollar. Gee I went way off base...hope it helps anyway Also your gameplay online will be more dependant on your connection speed than your ram. 56k...forget t, cable and dsl and you will be alright with 256 or 512 ram.
