adding NPC's to my level...

Yeah, when you add an NPC to the map (say, NPC_stormtrooper) Radiant displays a box. -I think it's actually a representation of the NPC's "bounding box." Once you've compiled the map and got it in game the NPC should be present and correct.

 

I guess for map objects, Radiant displays the model itself so that mappers can more precisely position it. Since NPCs are usually moving all over the place, accuracy isn't really required so it just draws a box.

This is a bit off subject, but i just want to say to Starunner that i thought his Coruscant Promenade map was excellent. :)

 

And if you want to get rid of the watersound, you can always put a little clipping box over the offending area. If you make it only 1 grid unit thick, the players won't ever know they are not actually touching the area.

 

Another thing. The problem happens when you use certain shaders, so what you can also do is use the picture the shader uses and make your own custom texture with that, by renaming it for example.

 

I hope we see some more maps from you :)
