Try to get your hands on something like Adobe Photoshop, or Corel, or Paint shop.....something like that anyway..

 

These programs have many cool features, u can add textures to a surface , or distort things, change the colors....many cool things.

Only problem is figuring out how to use this ****...lol

 

Just get one, and have a play around with it, see what they do. Get an image, muck around with it, try to use the different features to see what they do, and see what you can come out with.
