Changing NPC skins for custom skins

I know it's possible to create new NPCs, and there is a very good tutorial by Emon on it, but I'm looking for the easier option. I just wana replace the skin of some NPCs with some custom skins. It seems I have to create a mod which will alter the skins, and I guess I probabaly have to extract some things from some of the assett pk3s. OK, that's how much I know...where do I go from here?

Well, it's basically the same method you use with creating new npc's, but instead of creating a new entry, just edit one of the existing ones.

 

So check out the thread on creating new npc's and if you can't figure it out from there i'll give you a specific answer.
