Bilbo Skywalker
I loved it, came across some interesting info for all who used to watch it and miss it. like me :( they never made the last episode, they scripted it, but never actually made it. it turns out they NEVER make it home (ala quantum leap anyone?) and that.... wait for it...... Venger is Dungeon Masters son!!!! two thoughts: Venger : Luke, DM: Vader. and can you imagine DM gettin down?
Pvt_Dancer
Dude... I did. I used to LOVE that cartoon. However, my sister, for some reason got to pick what show we would watch while eating breakfast on Saturday mornings and she always picked the Smurfs which was on opposite. My parents were like, "Next week you get to pick." But it was the same story every week goddamit. I swear to God I saw the full series on DVD somewhere.... maybe I was dreaming. That would be so cool though. Well.... as cool as a DVD full of a cartoon based on DnD can be.
Jedi_Monk
Hehe... I thought you were gonna be talking about the Dungeons & Dragons movie when I first saw the title of this thread. I think the D&D cartoon was on, like, the Family Channel or Nickelodion for about a season a few years ago. Have vague memories of it... I watched a couple of episodes, but that cartoon just screamed 80s animation... sigh, even Ghostbusters wasn't as good as I remembered it when watching it in my teens Now here's something completely random because I've got the Disney Channel on... all these rappers and R&B people are just raping all of my favorite old Disney songs with their bloody covers! Bah!
Datheus
*kick* Dungeons and Dragons the movie.. dude.. I almost hurt someone. That movie did such a diservice to the game, I wanted to cry. I didn't even know there was a TV.. but, uh, if it screams 80s animations *sigh* It'd probably make me want to cry also. I'll just stick to the game thankee Oh, and R&B and rap such can die.. how can they even cover a Disney song:o It's would seem impossible... Or so you would hope:rolleyes:
Jedi_Monk
Dungeons and Dragons the movie.. dude.. I almost hurt someone. That movie did such a diservice to the game, I wanted to cry. Are you kidding me?! That movie wasn't a diservice to the game... it was a diservice to the entire movie genre and the game It's amazing that they could make a movie with such bad CG in 1999... its special effects looked about on the level of Mortal Kombat! And the acting?! I've never, ever seen a movie with worse acting... my mom claims that Jeremy Irons was a good actor... nonono, he was about the worst one in that movie, and that is really saying something! Just amazingly bad! Makes me with MST3k were still around
Datheus
heh... Bah, beyond the acting and the graphics, it was just a horrible script to begin with... It was one of those movies you watch for however long it was.. and you walk out and think to yourself "How did that POSSIBLY take 2 hours..." The story was pretty horrible and seemed rather short and weak
Guardian Omega
I thought DnD was a game? Then again the only game I played similar to DnD was Neverwinter Nights........
Datheus
Yea, Dungeons and Dragons is like your staple table top RPG... AD&D Second Edition was the first tabletop I learned how to play *sigh* D&D has kinda wiggled its way into various pop culture refernces and movies and stuff... D&D First Edition was developed way back when, I believe, in the late 1970s, and was published, and it's gained momentum since, with Third Edition being released about 2 years ago

Bilbo Skywalker
heh that movie sucked. i dont think the game was based on the series, but the series ruled, ok looking back now the animation is quite bad, but the storylines were great, and great characters.
