Anyone know anything about bike repair?

My front derailler stopped working for some unknown reason. I have to switch the left gear manually (aka: getting hands greasy by switching chain on front derailer, and adjusting front derailer so chain doesn't make annoying noise) I messed with the steel wire stuff, kinda tightened it, but that didn't really do anything different.

 

I can still ride my bike, it's just annoying when i want to switch to a lower gear when i'm going up a hill.

 

My right gear works though, which changes the chain on the rear derailler. The bike is a 15 speed Mountain Fury.

.....How odd. I can find out tomorrow (maybe). I dunno, I'd have to actually see what the problem is.

more info on bike condition...

 

i rode a few miles on it today, the gear feels like it keeps changing, the chain seems to be slipping on the grooves and then reconnecting, etc. I checked the chain, no links seem to be broken on it. (red: i did fly it down Kissel hill...the tires almost blew out and my face almost got frost bite. )

hmm, i have to make a bike repair today too, and i know much about bikes, cause I drive downhill sometimes... but my english is not this good, that I can give you correct answers to your problem.... sorry....

well, i kinda fixed it...and then on the way back from riding up and down these awesome hills, i mess with the left gear and then the chain starts acting stupid. i think i'll get a pair of rollerblades. (ya right, i wouldn't have the guts to go down that hill with those on! it'd make for an awesome movie tho!!)
