Idea for "changing" player/NPC models in SP

Alright, say I want my player to change clothes in at a certain point in my SP level. ICARUS has no command to change models, there is no entity scripting to do it...

 

But you CAN have a trigger trigger a shader, right? We've all seen the doors that are red, then get unlocked and become white.

 

So...why not do the same for player/NPC models? Just have the model complete with all items and accessories, e.g. backpack, belt, bandolier, etc. Then trigger the shader that switches the textures to another frame which are either invisible or visible. Shoudln't that create the same effect of changing models?

That would require the model to be the same, so if you wanted to switch between Luke and Leia, they'd have to be the same model...

 

But yea, sounds completely possible...if you made Leia's chest and hair surfaces, you could do that.

 

You would need to find out how to script the shader change though. Interesting idea.
