Sniper Wolf
I've had problems for awhile with my video card. I have a VisionTek GeForce 4 420 MX 64 MB card (AGP) with the 30.82 Windows XP graphics driver. Everything in JK2 works smoothly for about 10 minutes, and then all of these white flecks appear on the screen and the colors get distorted and the game shuts down. I'm thinking it has to do with the video card overheating, but before this started happening, the video card never overheated and actually had better performance (like better FPS). My current FPS is 45-60 and it used to be 80-90. Any suggestions?
teleguy
Check if that also happens when you take off the housing of your Pc and put a big fan near it.
Andy867
Try these: Turn of V-sync under the setup options, also, make sure to see if you can re-arrange the wires in your pc so that it has better airflow (especially if you installed a new peripheral) Under the console in Jedi Outcast, type: seta com_HunkMegs XXX where xxx is 1/2 the number of total system memory/RAM Seta com_maxfps 200 and see if that helps Also, you could consider try ramsinks on your video card.. they act like heatsinks that you put on a cpu, but instead, you put them on your video RAM on your video card. Also, I am doing a review about water cooling kits, so you could consider those depending upon how mine goes. Since you might be able to overclock your PC, MAYBE... You might want to also check to see if the video card fan has any dust on it... That could explain the overheating... Also, try to space out heat-emitting peripherals from each other... like this: Video Card (AGP) [Empty Expansion Slot] [Empty Expansion slot] Sound Card --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That way the video card is picking up heat from the sound card... just an idea... So, try those things, except the water cooling, and see if that helps. (Please Excuse my poor attempt at a motherboard concept art)
