Tigris
Erm, yeah- the easiest way would be to just download a map using one, extract the textures and make the following shader with that texture: textures/beam/beam { qer_editorimage textures/beam/beam surfaceparm nomarks surfaceparm nonsolid surfaceparm trans q3map_nolightmap cull disable { map textures/beam/beam blendFunc GL_ONE GL_ONE tcMod scroll 0.3 0 } } OR you could download my map (Cantina) and extract the beam-texture (textures/beam) and the beam-shader Or If you don't have a map where it's used and my map is too big to download for you (30 MB), just send an email to the address at the bottom of this post and I'll send it to you (sorry, could resist advertising my map- won't happen again)
DarkLord_44
Got to ask permission first.
Tigris
Ok, take the shader, load it in a paintprogram that can handle alpha-channels (to my knowledge either Photoshop or Paintshop Pro) and look at the texture- then make a similar one. IMHO- the Beam-Texture everybody uses is the one from ID- made for Q3- if anyone is stupid enough to ask them permission to that, I tried but never got an anwser- general rule here is: Use it to make money= They'll get U, use it for fun= they will deny knowledge and won't care herassing you.
