Wes Marrakesh
OK... this may be a strange question... but I have some music for my map that I think would be perfect. Problem? Wrong format. IT's either a .cda (for being on the cd) or when copied to windows media player, a .wmx. I really want it as .mp3... can anyone help?
Leslie Judge
Use this one
Wes Marrakesh
That would work if it made it .mp3 not .mpeg and i could figure it out.
Wes Marrakesh
What are the requirements for custom music? I tried mine and it wouldn't play...
Leslie Judge
44.1 KHz, stereo. Some say it should be 112 kbit/s, some say they had 128, 160, etc and it worked. That CDex makes MP3 for you from CD tracks. Free and easy to use. I'm sure it is because even I can use it.
Gideon
I don't know for sure but I think you might want to download: Advanced WMA Workshop from http://www.litexmedia.com/?from_WMAWorkshophttp://www.litexmedia.com/?from_WMAWorkshop
Wes Marrakesh
I used CDex to rip the track, and woohoo.... the problem is the settings: you can't get KHz or stereo
Eldritch
Most ripper programs have options - I'm sure this one is no exception. Just check somewhere (mostly likely in a Options - Settings type of menu) so that when it rips the track it encodes it at 44,100 KHz Stereo. Also, I'm one of the people where anything other than 112 Kbps didn't work for me, so it's up to you to go with anything higher than that, but I think the quality at 112 sounds good enough for this game. Leslie Judge
Exactly. Options menu, Settings item, Encoder page. Encoder: LameMP3 Encoder... (for me) Version: MPEG I Bitrate Min: 112 kbps Mode: stereo Output samplerate: 44100 And you have to use the second button from the top on the right side to not just grab the tracks but compress them. WhiteShdw
Uuuh, doesn't Lame use VBR as a default? I'm pretty sure that doesn't work. Aru-wen: If you can't use anything but 112 that would mean that you also didn't hear the music in DoTF v.2. That's compressed at 192 kbps.
Wes Marrakesh
I don't have an output samplerate option, that's why I'm annoyed
WhiteShdw
ok, what kind of music are you trying to rip anyway? Maybe i have the same disc here. I could do it for you.
