Different JO game speeds

I almost always play JO with the Timescale set at 0.6. Sometimes a little faster, sometimes a little slower.

Does anyone else do this, or am I alone?

I have been recently wondering about whether or not it would be possible to have a server set up to control the timescale of the client games? Anyone know anything about this?

Also, on the subject of game speed: Am I the only person who thinks that JO is just too damn fast??? It's like watching a movie in fast forward. I guess it increases the "intensity" of the action, but it also makes it hard to not play sloppy!

I especially like duels at a slower speed, because you can REALLY focus on what you are doing. Regular speed just seems 'frantic' anymore. Also, the game just LOOKS BETTER, at slower speeds. Explosions, sparks, smoke, the animations, everything. There is REALLY some cool stuff happening in JO that you'll hardly ever see at regular speed!

I don't know. What does everyone think about this? Is it cool, or stupid? Personally, I'm sold on it.

If there were actually a bunch of other people who felt the same way, I might consider starting up a server for those people to play online. That is of course, if it's possible to even do that.

Thoughts on this, anyone???

Well I actually enjoy the game at default speed, partially because Im very good at this game, I know every damn move and combo out there and I can pull them quicker than most people.

Although, what's the exact command for the timescale thing? I would like to test that on bots.. Not that I would want to play on the net that way, even if it IS beautifuler, I like fast action better.

Kainite: What I said could be misunderstood, I didn't mean I'm the best and I can beat you and you and you. What I said is that I _am_ a very good player, therefore I like the game at its default speed with full phased action, I don't really like playing at a slower speed on the net so that somebody that cannot fight good at normal speed needs slowmotion effects to get the moves right...

You know what Im saying?

If you dont this time, I wont bother posting in this topic anymore.

I guess for pure action Junkies the faster the better.

But I agree with you Syfo-Dyas, I think you have a more enjoyable experience at a slighty slower timescale.

But I actually practice at a higher timescale to become less sensitive to higher speeds. I hope if I get used to reacting faster, normal speed my actually seem slow.

I always thought the movement was sloppy. I can't stand watching people ski around in games we shouldn't have to deal with that anymore. I think it would be cool if your saber is away you can run at normal speed but once you pull it out and engage in a fight your movement speed should drop and instead of runing lef/right forwards/backwards you should step left/right/forward/backwards.

This is something you can go and debate forever and go into great detail about new controls and movement theorys blah blah blah. All I would like is if you step left, you plant your animation w/o slipping around, if you force jump when you land, you should stop for a second and plant your feet before you run away, if do some sort of acrobatic you should stick it at the end of the animation and hold it for half a second. Think that would clean up the game and create a more solid feel to the gameplay.
