Scorpius
You must have a program that allows you to take screenshots of your gmax window in order to properly skin using gmax. I found this tutorial: http://www.mikesteven.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/tutorials/ddtutorial01.htm He uses 3D Studio Max, but everything is the same for gmax, except one thing ... When it talks about using "Texporter", that's where you have to take a screenshot instead, because no version of Texporter works with gmax (at least none that I've tried). Basically just ignore steps 1.11 and 1.12 of the tutorial. You have to take a screenshot of the window showing the "Unwrap UVW modifier" from the front view. Then, you edit that screenshot in some graphics program. You will have to either increase the canvas size or crop the picture to make it 512x512, or 256x256, etc. DO NOT SCALE the screenshot to be one of those sizes; that messes up the mapping (yes, that's experience talking). After it's the right size, then you should be able to go back to the tutorial and follow it exactly. I've only done this once myself using a very simple block, but the same basic steps should work on any model. If you want me to try, just give me a link to some place that I can download your gmax file from.
