I'd agree with the second statement, which still means you would start with a vague reality (pilots) and turn it into gameplay. But which do you agree with? And for someone who is supposedly opposed to "clickfests", surely the Pilot option discourages this greatly. You can't simply create an army in a series of finger spasms anymore. You'll note I'm more lenient on the officer thing. While I would love to see them, because they do have a significant role in the movies, there as yet isn't a good gameplay means of involving them.
