So If you need healing before battling again, heal fast, then pick up the crystal and go back to battle. I find them generally superfluous - I found that Raven's Force regeneration rate meant that I always had a decent amount of Force energy. I found myself wishing that it was a sort of 'Force Boost', in that when you picked it up you'd have full force no matter what for ~15 seconds or whatever ...
