Super J Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 i am making a duel map of the hanger bay that the millennium falcon was in on the deathstar. i created some sliding doors that work fine, but when i rotated them to fit another brush, they will open, but if i stand in front of them, they try to close and then reopen. it does not do this for the other doors. as of now, the doors open when you walk in front of them. is there anyway to fix this? thanks
Wudan Posted December 30, 2002 Posted December 30, 2002 Sounds like you need to fix the angles on those doors.
Super J Posted December 31, 2002 Author Posted December 31, 2002 i have decided not to let the doors function. when i rotate a group of brushes, they do not fit togaher as they should. i use the arbitrary rotation, and enter the angle i want. is there a better way to do it? thanks
Wudan Posted December 31, 2002 Posted December 31, 2002 wait a second - wha ... ? You rotated them something other than 45/90 degrees? It can work, but it will be tough.
Super J Posted January 2, 2003 Author Posted January 2, 2003 i rotated the brushes 45 deg. i rotated a group of the them together. after that they did not fit together properly.
Shadriss Posted January 3, 2003 Posted January 3, 2003 That doesn't surprise me too much. A 45 degree rotation has different spacing between grid points than a 90 degree rotation of the same thing would. You are probobly off rebuilding those doors to a close approximation of the original, and then making it into a working door. Just rotating it 45 degrees is going to mess up the brushes in relation to one another. One of the reasons I try to avoid odd-angled doors.
