JK2 Problem

I have no idea if this is the right place for this post (Sorry everyone, I seem to really mess up my post placings). But here goes my tale...

A friend of mine who still loves 1.03 told me to download something called AOJ Patch Commander in order for me to play that version with him (keep in mind I run 1.04). So, I ran the thing and the game seemed fine, and I even played on a server with him. After, I ran the 1.04 file (This patch commander lets you switch between 1.02a, 1.03, and 1.04), and restarted the game and everything was fine.

However, the next day (which was yesterday), I started up JK2. Everything seemed to run fine, except to my dismay....

- On the server menu, you know how beside some servers you can see the No Force icons and Sabers Only icon? Those have been replaced by black or dark green squares.

- The in-game chat box that pops up ontop of someone's head when they're typing had turned into a black box, looking similiar to my problem above.

- Most of my default maps are gone! duel_temple, duel_training, duel_hanger, etc. I still, however, have duel_bay.

Now, the worst part of it all is that I can't uninstall Jedi Knight II! The setup right before the uninstallation wizard stops because of an error, so although I don't lose any of my JK2 files in the process, I can't start the uninstaller. :(

Is there any way I can cleanly remove JK2 to install it again? I'm afraid of deleting the folder; my computer might not consider it being uninstalled and it might not let me install it again.

Also, what caused it? My freind has the AOJ Patch Commander, and his game is fine. I don't know what the problem was, but I'm assuming it was the patch commander because these problems occured the day after I used it.

Any ideas anyone? Any help would be most appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

First a few questions

1. did you get it at the same site?

2.Do you see the costum maps and files that you got from some JkII sites (not the ones included in the installition)

Okay try taking those files out then throw away the JKII folder. Then try Installing. It should work now. Then put back the files where they belong

there was a time when i was playin 1.03 and 1.04 without that patch commander. how u say?

i installed 1.03 and then copied it to another location. then i did the 1.04 update.

so that way i have 1.03 and 1.04 on my hd.

i used gamespy arcade for my mp game so when i wanted a 1.03 game i changed my jk2 location to the 1.03 location and did join game. ;)
