Jan to Mara

Take a look at the directory structure. The pk3 file can be opened by winzip.

 

You'll see

 

\models\players\mara

 

this dir structure is used by the engine to locate "objects" it needs to load.

 

Jan's dir is base\models\players\jan

Now what we want to do is replace Jan's files with Mara's.

 

Create this dir:

c:\base (or any drive of your choice)

 

extract Mara's pk3 in there (using extract with full paths in winzip's extract options.) Keep Mara's version you want to see in-game and delete other dirs.

 

rename the folders to jan everytime u see something used by mara

 

\models\players\mara

would become

\models\players\jan

 

same goes for .skin files and custom sounds (but im not sure if the game will use custom sounds)

 

Open up the model_default.skin file (with wordpad or whatever) and make it point to the correct texture path.

 

When ur done, pack the whole thing using winzip, select "models" and add to zip using sub-dirs, rename to .pk3.

 

Place the file in gamedata\base, start a new game and you should see her in the cutscene and help you fight them troopers.
