Burrie
This is a question that I've been speculating about alot recently... There is one thing that we might be pretty certain off : the entire story, game mechanics, and the way we've developed your characters will in the end turn to one thing : The finale. That one conflict in which the entire GFFA can go in one direction or the other, and in which all the skills developed by the (N)PCs will be put to the test. Suffice I say, I'd like to see what you guys are speculating what this finale will be... will it be big or small, chaotic or contained, stuff like that... To start off, here's how I picture the finale to be... After moments of planning with my subordinates(through the use of conversations), the battle for Korriban commences. A huge taskforce, consisting of Jedi and Republic soldiers, begins a huge offensive strike against the Sith Homeworld of Korriban. The smuggler pilot plots a course through the battle in space, as I personally destroy Sith Fighters with the turret on the Ebon Hawk. The Hawk receives lots of hits, so much that even the shield goes off-line just as we're nearing Korriban. Luckily, I'm able to nail the final Sith Fighter just above the surface of the planet. As more transports begin to land, the ground assault commences. With Bastila Shan, whom I recently brought back from the Dark Side, and Jolee Bindo, my master whom taught me everything I knew about the Force, at my side, I quickly begin to take charge. Meanwhile, more troopers begin to pour out of the transports, and the many faithful allies who've been at my side, run out of the Ebon Hawk to fight in the ultimate battle against the Sith. Unfortunatley, the battle of Korriban will take many lives. Sith Knights and troopers quickly appear from the temple in a desperate bid to protect their planet. After a lot of bloodshed, the Republic slowly begins to overtake the base of the Sith. My character suddenly sees Darth Malak and rushes after him. My allies are slower to react, and only begin to pursuit Malak several moments later. Sensing us, Malak quickly begins using Force Speed to enhance his movement. I activate my own force speed, just like my allies, but Malak is too fast for them. Only I am capable of keeping up. Finally, as Malak and I enter a huge room, a door closes behind us. I'm cut off from Bindo and Shan! It seems that Malak wants one final confrontation. I quietly grab both my sabers, and activate them both. Across of me, Malak activates his single red blade. Slowly, we advance towards each other... Summed up, this is how I'd like to see it... one big battle, the size of Geonosis, led by the main PC(me ), with the many allies that the game offers at my side for the ultimate battle for freedom. But I'm really hoping that the final battle with Malak is going to be a one-on-one lightsaber duel. I've already seen many RPGs in which the final boss could only be defeated if all the characters fought against him, whilst he was capable of taking on a party of 8 all by himself. This is just not how I envision a final Star Wars battle... it should be just lightsaber(s)-vs-lightsaber, in which I have to utilise all the saber feats and Force Powers I've accumulated so far to defeat Malak. Anyway, that's how I envision the finale for the light side... I'm not so sure about the Dark Side yet... so, what are your thoughts?
Ki-Adi-Mundi
I'm pretty sure that the Sith don't have a homeworld, let alone Korriban. I believe that is just the world that Darth Maul's race was from. But since it does seem that Korriban has an unusual connection with the 'dark side' of the Force, it would be a reasonable choice for a final battle. But I could be wrong. Anyone have some facts on hand to correct meh? Personally, I haven't given any thought to a final battle. Though I do like your representation of it. Btw, what does GFFA abbreviate? Taos
I too have not given much thought as to what the finale will be like......if it's anything like you describe Burrie, I would be very pleased. But yes, that would be good for a light side jedi.......a dark jedi (that you have become) probably would fight along side Malak and help him destroy the Republic and the jedi. Ki-Adi-Mundi
I can just see it now. The Sith storming Coruscant and taking over the Jedi Temple with minimal resistance except from some of the most senior Jedi Council Members and some Jedi children who've yet to find a Master and begin their apprenticeship. A dramatic last stand in the Council room, maybe.

Mmmm, although I've never read any of the "Tales of the Jedi" comics (I'm still hoping to get my hands on them, one day), I'm actually pretty sure that Korriban is the homeworld of the Sith, or at least a center piece for the dark lords of the Sith... doesn't Palpatine visit it in 'Empire's End' as well to consult with several Sith Lords? as for Maul, he's a zabrak from Iridonia, not Korriban. (the starwars.com databank has more info on this, methinks) Btw, what does GFFA abbreviate? Galaxy Far Far Away.

Mex
Heh heres my story of how I think it will end _______________ Seconds after seconds after seconds, the clock was ticking... Darth Malak was stood in the shadows, he was laughing..... I and my padawan raced down to him... We were cautious, after a few seconds he came out of the shadows, activating his lightsabre, me and my padawan raised ours, the battle begun, the lightsabre clashes could be heard from miles away, after a few minutes of combat, Darth Malak let his anger out and sliced off my padawans leg... I was filled with anger and fury, I charged at Malak, fighting with everything I could, after an hour of fighting, we were both tired out.... The only sound I could hear was our lightsabres... Humming silently......... Suddenly Malak charged and sliced my hand off with sheer ease.. I let my guard down and Malak was going to deliver the final blow... But he let his guard down and my padawan sliced him straight in half with his last ounce of energy..... It was finished.. ___________________ Cool huh? Burrie
You know, I like that idea... a padawan at your side fighting Malak, making it look more like Duel of the Fates... (although I hope that the master will hold out this time) I've been thinking some more about the Dark Side, and somehow, I can't see a more Dark Side-like ending when you have to encounter the party that was at your side before you joined Malak at the end. I mean, it could truly highlight the dark side of the PC. Here, he encounters all the allies who have helped him, master Bindo desperatley trying to talk you back to the light side, the smuggler who taught you all you knew about the galaxy, seriousley trying to prove you that you're going to the wrong path, plus many other allies who've been at your side trying to convince you... and yet, you merely wound them with your words. And then, the PC and mayhaps some other allies at his side (surely the assassin droid would be on your side, I can see Shan crossing the Dark Side with you as well, and of course, we have Darth Malak who's also willing to fight alongside you now) start a duel to the death with all the friends he had, to show his commitment to the Dark Side and the Sith. This is actually something that I'm looking forward to in KotR for the Dark Side... you will probably start out on the Republic side and gain many friends and allies. What will their reaction be once you joins Darth Malak's ranks? How many will go with you to the Dark Side and the Sith Empire? How will your previous allies react to this desertion? Shall they refuse to fight, or are they willing to do anything to stop you? To be honest, a fight to the death with old friends will be a great way to seal off the treachery of the PC once he joins the Dark Side, to highlight how far one can go should he joined the Dark Side... at least, in my opinion. FunClown
I'm not sure, I think its different for if your sith or jedi maybe?
Ki-Adi-Mundi
Ah, thanks for the info Burrie and Leemu. That would be pretty cool to see the people you betrayed at the ending of the game. I wonder if they would let you go to Bindo and go back to the Light and kill Malak...
Burrie
From what I can remember, in the first 75% of the game, you'll more or less be choosing your side, and the last 25%, you'll be firmly placed in either the Light or the Dark Side, and that there can be no redemption or fall of grace at that point... But don't quote me on that.

But don't quote me on that. Too late... Nah, I hope the ending is solid and not some afterthought. If I play the game for 60 hours (happily), I will at least want some sort of resolution to the conflict.
Lord Glorfindel
I think no matter what you have to duel Malak, if your dark or light. Because Darth Malak is still your enemy even though your a sith. I think it will sort of be like how JK1 ended, if you kill Jan your dark and you still fight Jerec, if you don't kill Jan your light you still fight Jerec. Two siths can't rule on the same throne because they both want power, unless one is a master and one an apprentice.
