Euth Posted January 8, 2003 Posted January 8, 2003 Ok - am trying to put a custom mp3 on my map and am really sorry but I have read the past threads on this and it still doesn't seem to work...... I created a new folder in base\music and called it custom, then put the .mp3 (music.mp3) file in there. I then went into Radiant, pressed n, clicked on worldspawn and added the key music, and the path music/custom/music.mp3. I have also checked that music.mp3 is 44KHz, 112 kbps and in stereo - which is the same as all the other .mp3s the game uses. Please could someone tell me what I have done wrong - sorry for being such a lamer
Euth Posted January 8, 2003 Author Posted January 8, 2003 Good call. I tried this - I opened up the .pk3 in pakscape and put the folder /Custom (with music.mp3 in it) in the music folder of the .pk3. When I ran the map as normal and whereas before it said it couldn't locate the file, it now says: "Decoder failed to initialise" (file: music/custom/music.mp3) Any other ideas guys?
Euth Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Come on dudes - this should be so simple - can anyne tell me where I'm going wrong please??
DarkLord_44 Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 did you put in that path for the music in worldspawn because it needs to be there so it knows what to look for.
Euth Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Yep, did that, I don't know why this isn't working?!
Wes Marrakesh Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 Well it sounds like you've done it all right, so could you give the exact error?
Euth Posted January 19, 2003 Author Posted January 19, 2003 Thanks for your help. All I get is the message below when I bring down the console after loading up the level: MP3ERR: Decoder failed to initialise (File: music/custom/music.mp3) Hope you guys can help!!
DarkLord_44 Posted January 19, 2003 Posted January 19, 2003 ok this is what I did. For my path I did music/duel_yavindueltrial/nightskies.mp3 I would suggest changing the /custom to your map title. Remember EVERYTHING is case sensitive. It took me 4 trials to get everything correct. So check the case and see about changing /custom to your map title.
Euth Posted January 20, 2003 Author Posted January 20, 2003 Gave it a try and still the same problem I'm afraid. This sucks....
