Lex
Hey guys, U all play CC, and u all like the game live long, so read following. It is about trying to get zone rating for Clone Campaign. If we do, the chances of this game of living longer are greatly increased. Tango1(BSC SWGB:CC game admin) talked to member plus Charli about this and got told me that he is going to ask on Monday about getting rating for CC He asked him if there is anything he could do and he told me that if we all e-mail the zone about it, we have a better chance. So time to e-mail guys The e-mail address is: mplus@microsoft.com and this is what you are going to write: Hey I request that the zone provided a rating system for the game Galactic Battleground and expansion pack Clone Campaign. I would really appreciate this if this can be done. Thank you for your time. (Your zone name) So mostly just copy and paste that and add your name. This is so easy so just freaking do it ok guys? Get as many people as you can before Monday if possible, more we get, better the chance of getting rating when Charli ask the zone. I know we tried before but well what the hecks try it again and this time Charli going to ask on Monday so our chances are better Spread the word guys and YES I know my english sux ass! Sithmaster_821
That's great. You guys, please e-mail. This could very well prolong the lifespan of the game (it's currently very dead)
AU_Andy_Ewok
That's been done just so many times. With CC it's hardly gonna work that well since there are so few RMers. AOM has ten times as many people playing and 80% of those are RMers where as CC is like 30-40% Rmers. The highest rate would be like 1800 which would be silly because you could start a new name and after about 5 games vs higher rated players you could get there easy. SE_Vader_536
id definetly be more into rms if i got rated on them. nobody really plays rms cause they well are pointless. but with a rating system things get competitive and even better you can tell whos an expert and whos a noob! lukeiamyourdad
Personnaly, I'm against a rating system. It was a nightmare back when i was always playing on Battle.net You always have those idiots who bash newbs to get more points. It will suck. swphreak
if the rating system is gonna be anything like AoM. . . it will suck cuz of what luke said. People bash the noobs, and trick noobs to steal their points. In fact, I still have an even 1600 points for AoM's rating system
pbguy1211
points could work well if done properly... what they NEED to do is to take the locks off the rooms, or at least set a time limit you can lock a room or something to boot the jerks who sit there for days. RMs are useless? don't think so SE, if anything the net scenario's are useless because 90% of the time the host cheats to have super units and whips everyone in the end. Sithmaster_821
Increased amount of players and the other people will play more oftne. Also, there's always a gauge of who's the best player and who's the next best, which helps both players and designers know what units/civs/strats are good and which aren't. Finally, it builds a community environment, something the Zone is definately lacking
Guest DarthMaulUK
All the strats and tips have been made especially for GB.com by expert players that I know from around the community. These are some of the true experts so they do know best and it's a case of picking and adapting a strategy best suited to your style of play. lukeiamyourdad
I fear it will become a place where newb bashers will rule. I used to play play on Battle.Net vs people who had 400 wins and 20 defeats when I was only an inter. You realize very fast that they suck and spent their time bashing newbs or trapping people(since in StarCraft you don't have a lock team button, people can simply change their team and gang up on someone). The game stopped being just for fun and became a reason to be superior to someone.
pbguy1211
well. there IS a lock team function... thankfully. would people who quit and disconnect get an "L" for that? They should! Or else no one would ever resign
Sithmaster_821
Luke, the best part about rated is YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY IT so if you don't want an intense game or think you'll have to opt out soon or think everyone on rated is a newb basher, then you can play non-rated DMUK, the strats on GB.com aren't exactly numerous or up-to-date (unless they have been updated recently, which then I retract this statement and the one made on the improvement thread). But, your strat page is a lot better than the one over at SWGB, which has great strat articles like "How to herd animals"

Is it worth the bother to MS or LA ?
lukeiamyourdad
It's way to late to get a rating system for SWGB. You can forget about it. Maybe SWGB2 even if I don't like it. Besides, AoKTC didn't have a rating system if I remember and it's still very popular.
