This is actually fairly easy: use func_usables.

1- Make your forcefield brush(es) out of caulk first, then apply a force-field shader on the visible faces.

2- Select the forcefield brush(es) and make them a func_usable

3- Every time a func_usable is triggered, it will switch to "on" (visible and solid) or "off" (invisible and nonsolid). So, go to the entity window for the func_usable and select start_on if you want it to start activated, then make yourself a trigger_multiple or func_button or whatever you want to activate the forcefield, and just target it at the func_usable. That's all there s to it! I think you can add sounds to the func_usable from the entity window.
