elTee
Oystein, you're obsessed. Why does Guybrush have to be tall?? He's shorter than most characters in all of the games except for CMI. Michael J Fox would have been perfect if they were making the film like 10 years ago, because he's not too tall and looks a lot younger than he really is. He woulda been a great Guybrush, even his voice is right. But its not gonna happen now, so he's not an option.
Oystein
I'm not obsessed. It's just that I'm a movie fanatic, and I've seen many weird casting choices. And if they're ever gonna make a movie out of my favourite game, I would be furious if they had chosen the wrong guy to play Guybrush. Details like height and stuff are important. I've always pictured Guybrush as a bit tall, regardless of any MI game.

Fox could play guybrush's voice, he is still able to do that, just no physical acting (despite the fact that animation call for a lot of physicality from the actors, sometimes more than live action films)
elTee
If the film isn't going to have real people in it then there's no reason why the original cast from the games can't transfer their roles to the big screen. But I know what you mean, Fox was in that Atlantis film from Disney recently, so he would be ok to do an animated role. Personally, I would only be interested in a live action movie. I don't have anything against cartoons, but I wouldn't like to see Monkey Island done that way. Computer generated animation would also be a very bad option. Out of interest, which roles do you think have been mis-cast in the past then? (hee, a rhyme!! mis-cast-inthe-past)
Joshi
I know what you mean, if it wasn't in live action, it wouldn't really be worth it. I don't really know of any films that have been miscast (actually I have, but that's because I hate the actors/actresses who i think have been miscast, so it wouldn't be a very good idea to say they were miscast, also, they would be too numerouse to list)
Oystein
Well, Christian Slater in True Romance for instance. He was totally wrong for the role. It didn't suit him at all. Sean Penn would have been better. And Robert De Niro in Jackie Brown. He seemed totally unmotivated for the role and acted very bad. He should've been replaced by someone like John Turturro. I don't hate these two actors, I just think they were not the right choice for their respective roles. And I also might add that I enjoy both of these movies regardless of Mr. De Niro's or Mr. Slater's performance. That's all I can come up with now. I'll see if I'll bother to post more mis-casts later...
