Psyk0Sith Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 You want skins? skins suck!: MODELS are way better Emperor Jango Fett Madalorian Pack
Russ Posted March 8, 2003 Author Posted March 8, 2003 Whats the difference between a model and a skin? I though they were the same thing.
Koala3K Posted March 9, 2003 Posted March 9, 2003 The way I understand it, a skin is basically a repainted character from the retail release, and a model is a brand new character shape and skin and everything. For example, if you wanted a Darth Vader character, you probably wouldn't want to go with a skin, because of the unique helmet, chestplate, and cape. An entire new model would have to be created to fit the skin. Make sense? If I'm wrong about this, someone please correct me before I delude myself any more. --Koala3K
mace_sundancer Posted March 10, 2003 Posted March 10, 2003 skins are the textures applied to the models, models are the actual 3d objects that represent the characters. models generally come with at least 3 skins, default or normal and red and blue team skins for CTF/CTY etc. where as there is usually just one model in the release unless they do smething like the leia/boushh model where the model came in 2 versions, one with a helmet and one without.
