5.18 Can a single crafter create a complex item from start to finish?

No. As characters improve in a particular profession, they gain the ability to create more complex items. However, with that improvement, they lose the ability to fashion the simpler parts on which they practiced their early skill.

I got this from FAQ.So what this is telling me is, As I practice I get better and better but forget how to make the simplest stuff that I learned already???

That makes no sense!

How do you learn the very basics that tought you the skills and forget them when you improve?! It should be assumed that most skills you use in a proffesion have those basic elements that you learned in the begining..how do you forget them?!

When you begin as a crafter, you have a broad base of skills, covering the basic items of most crafting methods. However, as you specialize, and specialize again, you'll have to take those points from somewhere. I.e, Will Weaponsmith needs to sacrifice ten more points to be able to make the blueprint for the Überscope Blastermaster 4000. "Hello assembling basic components skills, let's just go for a little ride...". That morning, Will Weaponsmith will wake up and realize that he can no longer do the entire job himself, since he'll need another person to create the basic components for him (the whole cycle is sort of 'mining, refining, building basic components, making a blueprint out of them, and finally creating the item by putting the basic components together with the help of the blueprint). Will Weaponsmith shed a small tear, then remembered the Überscope Blastermaster 4000, and got happy again.

Does this describe well enough? However, you should be able to hold on to the basics for a long time, if you can master 3.5 professions...

It will be no good to make ton and let them sit there since item degrade after time and I will have to spend ton to upkeep them while they sit to be used. Making a small bunch if you know you gonna use them or sell them soon is ok. Plus making a ton you would have need a ton of materials to make then and materials wont be that easy to get..well, not enough for tons..

It's all part of the plan to promote player interaction and keep the in-game economy afloat, I suspect. I've made things, put them together and made more complicated things. The only way you forget how to do the basics is from lack of practice.

Having said that, they're probably taking their cue from EQ. For instance, I haven't bothered to make a sandwich since I started making wolf fillets in creamy fennel sauce...

Dammit, now I'm hungry.
