Kurgan
Sorry, I know this was answered a LOOOONG time ago, but I cant find the post anymore... So can somebody tell me the console command to change the "display time" for chat text in multiplayer? Now that I've started playing the game again, it gets annoying to miss messages, or have people chat spam. ; p Thanks!
Hekx
con_notifytime (default 3)
Kurgan
Thanks. What's odd though is that it doesn't seem to work... But I'll keep trying, maybe just a fluke. I wonder what other useful commands are still floating around? The lag-o-meter works, and the crosshairs... Update: Now I know why, I should have checked my SPELLING! Kurgan
Yeah. You have my sympathy.. ; p Incidentally, the con_notifytime works great, but if I want to put it into my autoexec.cfg file, how do I put it in there? As is? Do I need a "seta" or "cg_" in front of it? Thanks...
ToppDog
Hmm, usually the command would be exactly the same as whatever you typed in console to make it work. If it's not saving that setting from game to game already then try adding it in to your autoexec file, but keep it exactly the same as what you typed in console to make it work the first time. Hekx
If you want to add it to your autoexec.cfg: seta con_notifytime "3" should do it. There's also another command for text to stay on screen: cg_teamChatTime (default: 3000) Set number of lines or strings of text that remain on screen in team play mode chat mode (messagemode2). I have mine set at 3600, that works well. If you want to add that to your autoexec.cfg too: seta cg_teamChatTime "3000"
