Breton
A war in the middle east will do only harm for your country. And if you in a country are not able to critizise the govermen't desicions, then it's nealry a dictatorship. The war protestors only want good for your country. Constructive critizism is only good for a country. Not doing it is bad for a country. So basically, to protest against your goverment is to love your country. Not critize it, is certainly not loving it. A war in Iraq certainly isn't a fight for your freedom, actually is has decreased your freedom. For instance when 1600 war protesters gets arrested for protesting. Freedom of speech, anyone? And of course, at lot of other things. I respect that you want to fight for your freedom, but do it by critizising your goverment instead of going out and ruining another country. This war has nothing to do with your freedoms. Pad
war is never good you know and im also against it. i wont be protesting against it (it doesnt change anything) but i very well know why people do it. i hate it when it leads in those riots but sometimes people believe something so hard they do evrything to defend it. people have the freedom of speech so dont judge them when they say something you dont like. Klorel
Yeah, being oppesed to the war and hippie like seems like the "cool" thing to do right now. I think its all either bandwagon liberals who want it to be like vietnam, or people who actually hate america and are just using this as the excuse. The people protesting this war are taking the very freedoms that allow them to do so for granted. If Protestors knew half of went on over there they might just protest the US not going to war, the media only shows us a glimpse of the lives the Iraqi people lead, and for anyone to say they enjoy living under a dictator who has killed members of his own family, is just foolish. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,3284-614607,00.html As far as france and russia.... well lets see, they never liked us. Furthermore, guess who owes france money?... Iraq. Sure, lets let him produce illegal weapons,, and sell them to terrorists, who cares right? Why are we even making a stand? If we just stayed in America and out of the rest of the world, then atleast Americans can say they didn't have anything to do with world war III. Oh wait, no one else seems to care (like in WWII) until the enemy is at thier borders prepared to take over (umm France?). Well the best defense is a good offense, if we had one in WWII it may have prevented the need for Atomic Weaponry, but we waited too long, and Japan decided to get thier hit in while they could, but had we been further along in Europe, that may have detered Japan from attacking us. What we're doing in Iraq is preventing Mass-scale world war, because if we don't stop this problem right now, it can and will only escallade. Sure the U.S. is now more vulnerable to terrorists, but its not like a terrorist wouldn't attack us anyways, so we might as well fight back for once instead of the world watching our citizens (innocent) be killed in mass. There is a mentallity in the world that America is provoking war, but the truth is that by doing something about Saddam instead of trusting him as Europe did hitler, we're calling his bluff, we gave him a chance, and now its time to act.
