Kjølen
Every time I goto a new page or refresh on LucasForums, no where else I get something asking if I want to download a "search.js" from "pagead.googlesyndication.com" I've tried downloading the thing to shut it up but it doesn't help, and a faulty, in-need-of-subscription Norton AntiVirus 2002 doesn't detect anything. I just deleted the file after it didn't work.

Kjølen
Well, it's not exaclty a banner or popup, so i don't think that will work, plus last time I tried raVen's stuff something happened, i don't remember but it messed a few things up so i deleted it, i dunno. Darth Eggplant
I was recently asked to download something so that I could translate and read the hebrew text used in this site. when I went to the GFN, I did not know that the lucas forums had gone Kosher:D
scabb
Don't use the hosts file. Support your community. And kjolen, it's to do with your IE settings - IE shouldn't download that type of file anyway, It should load in the ad maybe? I'm unsure. I am impressed and aroused by the latest pop-up that looks like the command screen.
Kjølen
Fortunatly, I don't get banners and popups, but how might I go about changing these IE options?
scabb
Well, on my system the file extension *.js opens by default with Microsoft ® Windows Based Script Host. Maybe create a new document, rename it to *.js, and then open it with the script host? However, I don't want to be responsible for screwing up your computer, in case it's some evil application lurking in the background; and after all, script files can be dangerous. Next time you're asked to download one, save it to hard drive and run a virus scan on it before messing about.
