Using Sprites..(hanging vines)

Place a brush where you want the vines to be and texture it with system/nodraw. Then, select one surface, the one you want the vines to appear on, and texture it with the vine shader. That should do it. In the game, the vines will appear exactly where you see then in the editor, on that plane of the brush.

 

If you don't want the player to be able to pass through the vines, use nodraw_solid instead.
