Emon Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 I know how to make them, but they never work. They work fine in Q3, but not in JO. I've tried every portal shader I can find, none work. Mirrors work, but I can't use a misc_portal_camera and have it display on a surface of the world. Has anyone gotten them to work?
Business_Eskimo Posted June 21, 2003 Posted June 21, 2003 Same problem here. I've tried everything I can, I KNOW that they do work in JA, i've seen it in some maps, but I get that missing texture 'holodeck' grid thing on the portal surface.
Emon Posted June 21, 2003 Author Posted June 21, 2003 ...could you please tell us how it is done, or let us see your map? If portal surfaces work in JO, as in, from a misc_portal_camera and not just a mirror, we can do a lot of cool things, even some crude but effective portal skies. Yes, JA has working portals, and portal skies even. Portal skies are the greatest thing ever.
Leslie Judge Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 I can't host the file on my geocities account (I'm not quite sure why), so I need e-mail addresses guys.
Emon Posted June 22, 2003 Author Posted June 22, 2003 olenikm@SoftHome.net emon1337@yahoo.com Last guy had trouble with the first, so send to both.
Business_Eskimo Posted June 22, 2003 Posted June 22, 2003 Would you mind sending it to me too, Leslie? I've been trying to figure this out for ages. chrishepner@cox.net
Emon Posted June 25, 2003 Author Posted June 25, 2003 Hello? Leslie? I haven't gotten anything yet. I need to get this working so I can have the camera zoom in through the window of my Super Star Destroyer...
Leslie Judge Posted June 25, 2003 Posted June 25, 2003 Sorry, Emon! I wasn't online for days. I sent the mail just now.
Business_Eskimo Posted June 26, 2003 Posted June 26, 2003 Great, thanks a lot. One question though- do the portal appear sideways to everyone else? Because if they do, I have figured out how to fix it. You simply add a 'roll' key to the misc_portal_camera with a value of 270 (im not sure but i think its 270).
Emon Posted June 27, 2003 Author Posted June 27, 2003 Thanks, it seems I must have used an info_null instead of info_notnull or target_position.
RenikDelan Posted July 2, 2003 Posted July 2, 2003 Leslie, can you send it to me as well? renik@cox.net ... thanks for anything and everything... -=IJ=- Renik
