Ockniel
I'v been mapping for a pretty long time and I know how annoying putting in lights are, you just have to sit there for half an hour just putting in hundreds of lights, have I been doing it all wrong for so long? tFighterPilot
I think you can get rid of all the lights, and change something in the world spawn. Also, you can make the lights bigger by increasing thier light value.
Ockniel
OK, what do you change in the worldspawn?

rgoer
He's talking about the "ambient" key in worldspawn--but don't use it. An ambient value of 15 or less is maybe ok, but anything more and the map starts to look like crap. Yes, good lighting is hard to do... but shortcuts and hacks always look worse. Business_Eskimo
Personally, I would never use an ambient value of more than 10, I sometimes use 5 to help make the shadows less harsh. And imyourfather/tfighterpilot..... That sig is REALLY disturbing.
tFighterPilot
It's funny. It is tFighterPilot, but because they've canceled the point system.

Scarlett
I always use an ambient light level of 16. That's where it should be if you want models to look properly lit when in complete darkness. From there, you should adjust your gamma settings so the darkest shadows are almost pitch black.
lukeskywalker1
Hey you know that rock texture (from yavin, i cant remember its proper name) but anyways, i made it really dark and the rock walls look really light.... why? it looks messed up if i put ambient 0 will it fix my problem?
